I have met many people who are rich in compassion and idealism. I believe that idealism can be funded best through free-enterprise, but there are times when government must lead the way. That means it's up to us.
My experiences, education and skills offer individuals, corporations and provider organizations working in the fields of government, human rights, LGBT civil rights, HIV/AIDS advocacy and especially those living with intellectual and developmental disabilities a viewpoint that is unique.
It is my hope that in extraordinarily tough fiscal times, we do not aggressively surrender to the man with the budget axe. We can not be made to think that saving a dollar is a winning deal ...if it costs the education, health and safety of our most vulnerable neighbors. Stand up to the budget axe man and stand tall. And stand tall again. And join others to stand tall with you.
